I come from below
Rocks and sand.
For I have traversed
A faraway land.
Now watch me rise,
And feel my wrath:
The heat of my wake
And the light of my sight.
So begins my reign,
And so dies the night.
Now you can see,
All of our land.
The mountains you know
Like the back of your hand.
Now don’t you fear
All that is wild,
For now I am here,
I am with you my child.
Now watch me fall,
Below rocks and sand.
Follow my trail
To a faraway land.
The edge of the horizon,
The end of my path.
So ends my reign,
And so dies my light.
But don’t you fright,
For now I’ll give way
To a starlit night.
